Join Dr. Lynda Klau who will introduce you to Conscious Breathing: Learning to Free the Breath and Voice.
Part One: An Experience
Unlike most bodily functions, the act of breathing is automatic, and yet it can also be regulated with conscious intention. The work is synergistic because the breath develops the voice and the voice develops the breath. It is influenced by Carl Stough’s “Breathing Coordination.” Lynda will demonstrate this work with Connie Lawrence and Kirke Olson as her students and then you will be able to participate.
Part Two: A Discussion
We will discuss the benefits of Conscious Breathing and how these relate to major concepts in IPNB. For example, how it causes a shift in our autonomic system from sympathetic to parasympathetic activity, facilitates vertical integration, and interfaces with Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory.
By the end of our time together, you will be able to appreciate the use of Conscious Breathing whether you are a clinician, an educator, a parent, or a child.
Listen to the recording and be introduced to a unique tool for embodiment and transformation!
