The Dynamic Maturational Model of Attachment and Adaptation (DMM) is the most comprehensive and modern model of attachment. The DMM focuses on attachment as a survival system, which shapes human information processing. The DMM provides a robust model for explaining why people do things we may not understand. The DMM began development in the 1980’s under the guidance of Ainsworth and Bowlby, and takes off from Bowlby’s last-days ideas about information processing.
This month’s Living Journal features attorney Mark Baumann, practicing Family Law Attorney in Port Angeles WA, and founder and director of the Conflict Science Institute. In the webinar, Mark will expand on his MindGAINS blog and newsletter overview of DMM. A brief overview of the DMM will be provided, and then our guest presenter will dive into a fascinating comparison of how disorganized attachment and the DMM’s A strategies might explain the true and tragically failed child protection case of Victoria Climbié. Details about the case can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Victoria_Climbi%C3%A9.
There will be time for questions in the Living Journal webinar.
