For nearly forty years Jane has been offering embodied depth psychotherapy and consultation to individuals, couples, and groups. Her specialty is treating psychological trauma resulting from early childhood wounds in the parental attachment relationships. These wounds can lead to developmental deficits in the stress-response-systems of the body-mind-brain. Deficits like these are often embedded in a variety of common conditions: relationship difficulties, chronic stress, depression, anxiety/panic, dissociation, eating disorders, and ongoing functional illness (such as IBS, migraine, fibromyalgia, autoimmune, MCS, chronic fatigue, among many others). Jane works with bodily symptoms to reduce stress, ground emotion in the body, ease chronic pain, and solidify the body self upon which the adult self develops. Without an embodied foundation the adult self cannot function to the fullest measure of its effectiveness. Jane uses a variety of tools to help people integrate their own bodysoul wisdom and grow toward healing: the therapeutic relationship, affect attunement and regulation, somatic tracking, dreamwork, voice dialogue, and body-mind-brain education. Her work is a tapestry of Jungian, psychoanalytic and somatic approaches interwoven with attachment, affective neuroscience and object relations theory.   Jane’s personal background experience includes writing, singing and songwriting, Chi Gong, Authentic Movement, Tibetan Buddhist meditation, shamanism, as well as learning to live amicably with a chronic digestive disorder.
