She incorporates the use of play, art, sand tray, and therapeutic narrative in her practice. Patti is currently studying complex trauma; current neurological findings linked to parenting practices, and Humanistic sand tray therapy. She is the president of the Texas Association for Play Therapy, a PhD candidate at Texas A & M Commerce, and a student of Interpersonal Neurobiology.      Patti is a frequent presenter on Jungian psychology, dream analysis, issues of grief and loss, and child development and behavioral issues. She is a member of The Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies, Texas Counseling Association, International Studies for Near-death experiences, North Texas Jungian Society, International Association for Play Therapy, and is the president of the Texas Association for Play Therapy. “When you find yourself struggling, in emotional pain, or unable to attain goals, counseling can assist in ways that doing it on your own cannot. Much of how we relate to others and even many of the ideas we have about ourselves developed within the context of relationships to others: parents, siblings, teachers, friends, etc. In therapy these dynamics come alive in ways that shed light, so that together we can work through ways in which you feel stuck and develop new ways of being in the world      It is my theoretical belief that you possess the intrinsic resources needed to assist in coping with both every day and significant life events. At times, these resources may not be realized or accessible due to a variety of causes. The first goal of therapy becomes establishing a safe, accepting, nonjudgmental, and genuine therapeutic relationship. When emotionally safe, you are free to explore, gain access to, process, and integrate unresolved losses, complexes, painful memories, and self-defeating beliefs and behaviors.” My wish for you is to live out your full potential, authentically embracing the life you choose to create.”   Patti Doumany
