About Me

Juan José Martínez Ibáñez is a clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst and relational psychotherapist. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Psychoanalysis, the British Psychoanalytic Society and the International Psychoanalytic Association. He has created the Giralda Psychotherapy Centre in Seville, an associate center of the Institute of Relational Psychotherapy and IARPP (International Association for Relational Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis). He is Professor of the Master in Relational Psychotherapy / Specialist in Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. He has presented papers in different international psychoanalytic congresses and has published articles in different psychoanalytic journals. The evolution of his thinking comes from the mainstream of psychoanalysis towards relational psychoanalysis, integrating the contributions of Bion, Bowlby, Fonagy, Stern and Siegel, and developing a therapeutic method that is practiced at the Giralda Psychotherapy Centre. He is an author of two books in Spanish.
