About Me

I received my M.S.W. from the University of Michigan in 1967.I was licensed in California (LCS 3594) in 1972. Before opening my private practice in 1973 I worked for Jewish Family & Community Service in Chicago and Family Service Association in Palo Alto. As a member of the adjunct clinical faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University Medical School (1976-2006) I supervised social work, psychology, and marriage and family interns. I have facilitated study groups, provided supervision/consultation to other mental health practitioners, and presented at professional conferences.I work with individuals, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds and cultures who come for help with a wide range of difficulties. I have expertise in the treatment of trauma and a strong interest in working with couples in which one or both partners are experiencing the negative effects of childhood traumas.
