Emotion is Integration by Daniel J. Siegel, MD
Members of the GAINS' advisory board contribute their latest thoughts to the Quarterly, drawing us into a community of inquiry and exchange of ideas at the leading edge where science and subjectivity meet. In his Winter 2007 article "Emotion is Integration" (link just below), Dan Siegel challenges us to become personally and viscerally acquainted with the emotional process unfolding within us. Advisory board members Pat Ogden, Tom Burton, Carl Marci, Diane Ackerman, the late John O'Donohue, and Diana Fosha have all contributed to past issues as well. In the current issue, Spring 2008, Marco Iacoboni talks about how our growing understanding of mirror neurons might provide the opportunity to become true community for one another.
From Dan's article...
"In this chapter, we will explore the fundamental question, 'What is emotion?' As you read this collection of words, it may become apparent that the approach of this entry is different from the usual stance of a professional text: I will be directly addressing you in order to most efficiently, and hopefully most effectively, dive into the subjective nature of how we experience feelings."
